The Petrichor Story

Petrichor is the pleasant earthy aroma of rain on dry soil. For us, this scent means mushrooms are coming!
Ancestral stories tell us that mushrooms first arose after lightning struck the ground, and from there, they populated the Earth with Life.
Similar to this story, we arose from a spark of lightning, but a metaphoric one. One of knowledge and a vision for the future. This spark ignited Petrichor Mushrooms, and after an inspiring Winter Solstice, we formed the company in January 2021.

We are just a couple of fun guys, pun intended, with a passion for mushrooms, sustainable business, and regenerative farming.
In late 2020 we found ourselves in Virginia prospecting for vacant, rural land to develop an eco-village, a dream we both had. While there we realized, like the saying, that we were attempting to put the carriage before the horse… So we came back to Florida with a plan to start a mushroom farm in hopes that it could eventually be our horse, and give us a platform to make dreams into reality!
